About Me!

I graduated from the University of Brighton in July 2024. I have explored digital photography since age 13 where I learnt basic digital photography and manipulation at secondary school. I continued studying photography through college where I began to experiment much more on my own terms with photography as I started to figure out what I liked taking photographs of and came up with ideas to plan out experimental shoots. Since the beginning of university I’ve discovered a passion for film photography and printing in the darkroom. Finding my passion for film photography also helped me find a liking for street photography. I like to take my film camera with me most places and have therefore found myself drawn to street photography, where I like to capture people, places and random objects I find that I’m drawn to whilst walking through the streets in Brighton. I really enjoy how one photograph is taken each time unlike with digital photography where many images can be taken at a rapid pace. Street photography allows me to consider that decisive moment and this is very important to me and my practice in general. Another part of my practice is intentional portraiture, which can be seen through my project titled ‘You Don’t Look Autistic’. A lot of my previous work has focused on exploring the relationship between human and nature interactions and focusing on the common concern of how humans affect the environment.

I was in the university of Brighton coalesce exhibition two years ago, where I exhibited my second year work titled ‘adapt’ about humans adapting to the natural environment which is opposing to real life where nature usually adapts to us. I’m currently collaborating with my illustrator friend on a project titled ‘dogs and their humans’ which we began in February 2024, where we photograph ‘dogs and their humans’ in the lanes in Brighton and she then illustrates my photographs We are planning on exhibiting some of our favourite images and illustrations side by side in a local shop!
